Before y'all reserve me a spot in the loony bin for weighing pollen...... I just wanted to let you know that it took 11 flowers to obtain 1/4 teaspoon of pollen. This pollen came from V. Peach which has lots of pollen. Now does anyone know how long this can be kept in the fridge or freezer?

not sure myself but always good to know how many flowers it takes to get a quarter teaspoon of pollen it may come up on who wants to be a millionaire..............lol
Glory, Since I've got lots of buds and will be collecting pollen soon I have a question for you. How did you get a 1/4 tsp of pollen. Did you take the anthers out of the flower and scrape them? When my SG bloomed I didn't want to ruin the flower so I just used a Q tip. I'm not sure how long it lasts in the freezer but I'm sure someone will jump in and answer that.
Just looked back on an old thread of Eric's. He said it can be stored quite a while in the freezer but you dry it for a few hours before freezing it. I didn't see any specific time frame though.
Glory....that would be a good experiment for you to do:) Just use a bit each year for several years and then post the results here for those of us who are still kicking by that time:) haha
Also, there may be a different storage time for pollen from the various varieties of brugs.....may be a LARGE experiment:)
Would be interesting though.

I guess I measure it just because it was there. LOL I did take an artist brush and brushed each and every one of those little anthers to get the pollen off and now I'm drying it.

I don't think I have enough years left to use all that pollen that I collected today if I just used it once a year. LOL
I'm going to save the pollen from as many Brugs as I can and maybe one day I will be rich and famous and y'all can say I knew her when. LOL....right!!!!

Since I had to use 6 grains of the pollen today I remeasured it before putting it back in the fridge.....Just joking!!!!!

My son used to be a Drug Cop before they made him sargent...he kept a scale cause he knew how crazy his Mother is. LOL
Well when we go on one of our brug raids DO NOT bring it,we'll be in enough trouble without the cops thinking were selling the scavenged brugs to sell as drugs.....LOL
