Ok y'all here is what I found out today on that Species that is blooming and has about 10 more buds on it. I removed the flower and the pollen is very dry so this one will have to be used as the Mother plant. I think I can get my DH to pollinate it for me while I'm gone if someone would be kind enough to send some pollen from an E. Pink or Aurea Pink.
Need Pink Pollen for Species
somebody send it fast!!!!!!1
All I have is Isabella. :( Somebody heeeeeeelp Glory. It's the beginning stages of a dbl Pink someday.
Snow,
I have frosty Pink but I think either E.Pink or Aurea Pink would be much better....I guess this is not the right time of year to be asking for this. Let's keep our fingers crossed that someone can help me out here.
tiG,
Keep your fingers crossed.

Brugcrazy,
I'll do that maybe someone on GW just might have some pollen.
where is Eric???????? have you emailed him?????
tiG,
No I haven't but I'm sure he'll get the notice I sent from the yahoo group.....I'm begging everywhere. LOL
Gloria, I have an Equador Pink with bud on it that had dropped down from the calyx about 4" I don't know how long it will take from this point to fully opening - - I am inexperienced at this. Tell me what you think. Will the timing be right for my EP to open and mail to your DH?
Frannie,
When the flower opens up take a Q-tip stick it into the Corolla and touch one of the anthers to see if the pollen is fluffy or dry.
Gloria . . Should the pollen be fluffy or dry if one is going to save and store it or send it to someone. Do you want me to send some to your DH?
Frannie,
If the pollen doesn't stick to the Q-tip it's not useable.
You got mail.
Tonny,
Thank you so much....there is 15 more blooms to open. I think I have talked my husband into pollinating these flowers for me if we get some pollen.
Burg Nanny is going to check on her E. Pink....she might have enough pollen to pollinate one flower....maybe someone else will show up with pollen. I think I have everyone on the internet looking for pollen from an Aurea Pink Brug.
Glory,
That is very good. Are your husband just as interested in Brugs as you are? If so, it is splendid, beause it can be so much more fun, when wife and husband doing things together :-) I hope, that Lene will help me cross this year and help me keeping record of it all *lol*
I hope Brugnanny finds enough pollen for you to cross with. I will keep looking for someone with pink or red aurea to mail to you :-)
Tonny,
I may have found someone with Aurea Pink pollen...not sure yet....this person is on GW....let you know more later. I did find some pollen from a Rosabelle....at least the pollen from one flower.
I notice today as I walked around my yard that I have a slew of Double White Candidas blooming on one bush...what bad timing, all these doubles and no pollen at this time. I do know one thing I will never get caught without pollen again. LOL
No my DH is not into flowers....he is just doing this (if necessary) to keep me quiet. LOL
Glory, i hear you, just like "I'll never be hungry again!"
Arlene,
Just call me Scarlet. LOL
gloria, you quiet? lol, lol
bill follows me around the yard with the typical "yeah honey" "uh huh" remarks. hes as interested in my plants as i am in his car manuals.
see ya tomorrow
jen
p.s...thanks for the ear today
Jen,
You are so welcome. It was quite funny Ron looking up the skirt of the flower looking for the stigma....ya know how interested he is in flowers. LOL
It's good that your DH will do that for you and I'll bet he'll be proud as a Peacock when he see's the seed pod that HE pollinated.
bill would do it, would just have to leave a drawn diagram. hes gone so far as to make a trip to merle norman to buy makeup for me. now thats a man out to please his lady, eh?
counting my blessings,
jen
Jen, you better hang on to that man. LOL. I'm lucky too. My DH helps a lot with the Brugs. He transplants them when they need to go into the BIG pots and moves them around for me. He had them all watered the other morning before I even got out of bed. With my bad back I don't think I'd be able to grow them without his help. He's taken a real interest in them too and gets just as excited as me when there is a new bud or flower. It's much more fun when you have someone that shares the excitment with you.
Scarlet, at least Ron isn't saying "Frankly my dear......"
LOL Arlene.
ROTFLOL....Lucky Chuck likes gardening,But right now we are planning the enlargement of "HIS" garden and he is allowing me to put brugs in it...LOL
Even when I'm so pooped from planting, I can come to this forum and get a good laugh. Sure makes my day.
Y'all are so funny...I love it!!!
Glory, So glad to hear that you got the pollen you wanted. Now you'll have to put your DH to work and have him make some pretty babies while you're gone. LOL
Snow,
LOL...let's hope he stick to Brugs. LOL
