PC Magazine has a page http://www.pcmag.com/article/0,2997,s=1498&a=25840,00.asp with links to all sorts of systems that check your security. This is probably overwhelming for someone who is not computer savvy and even for some who are!
Many of the utilities are for Windows systems only and since I run linux I cannot use them.
It tells you a great deal about your system and its vulnerabilities. BUT if you you follow all of the guidelines your system may be locked down so tight that you cannot get anything done. For instance cookies. I allow cookies and so Daves Garden knows who I am, without cookies I would have to log in every time.
