We have two really sickly maple trees out front, and they're mostly dead. We'd like to have them removed. Have any of you had luck with offering free firewood to anyone who will take out a tree? These trees are right on the curb, on a very quiet street, with no power lines anywhere around them (power lines are in back). The trees are maybe 30' tall, if that. There's ample room at curbside with no obstructions.
I was thinking of putting an ad in the paper saying people could have free maple firewood if they took them down. Liability worries me, though.
