Good morning farmers. It looks like another beautiful day here, just a bit chilly at 29* to start out. My weekend endurance ride went well, I rode a borrowed horse on his first 50 miler. My friend who owns him rode another one of her young horses who hadn't done 50 before so we took our time and enjoyed the scenery in the foothills of the mountains north of Boise,Idaho. One rider got dumped twice, the second time her horse went running off to parts unknown, it took all day to find him with the aid of a small plane. The rider was ok. The pilot of the small plane is the husband of another rider, he says he would love to live where you have to fly to get your groceries, so going to look for a horse on a beautiful day was perfect for him. On the way home I stopped and got 4 big buckets of nice sandy soil that I had been riding in the day before, perfect stuff for cactus and lightening up my flower bed soil where I have some succulents planted. Yesterday when I got home I needed to do some more watering in the yard and new strawberry patch. Today I hope to get more tilling done and transplant strawberry runners to new rows. Have a great day everyone, count your blessings.
