seedlings turning yellow...

from the top down. what am I doing wrong???????//

I had a few doing this, when I watered too much. I use peat in the pots and it got so wet, that it started to clasp together.

TiG, the pH could be wrong, causing an iron deficiency. Try using a bit of MIRACID in a spray bottle and spraying the leaves. This should fix any nutrient deficiency.
If they have been too wet, pythium can cause the roots to die which in turn causes a nutrient deficiency because they aren't working effectively. If they have been too wet, let them dry out a bit and give them plenty of light. They should recover.

Cala,

If the leaves are too close to a light source will this cause the leaves to turn yellow? I have a couple of plants under lights where the leaves are turning yellow. I do feed them with fertilizer.

Kyle,

When you add Epson salts how much to do put into the soil in a pot. Mine are in 2 gallon pots and I wanted to know how much to use.

actually, the light thing could be my problem. these are in ProMix potting mix, so I feel good about that part.

Hi Tig...You're probably looking after them too well! LOL

I think Joydie could be right though...cause all my brug seedlings get plenty of shade on the bottom shelf of my greenhouse bench! Think how they'ld be growing in the wild....most seedlings and young plants are sheltered by grass or other plants on the forest floor etc. before they eventualy grow taller than them in order to reach the sun light!

Best of luck,

joydie...I use about 2 tablespoons to a pot that size and do it just before a regular watering.it dissolves instantly... :-)
