Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The picture was made in 1992. The hybrid is not in my collection anymore.

Looks good to me. Why didn't you like it? I have a lot of seedlings growing from this hybrid. Do you know what it's offspring might be like? The crosses are Ursuline x Cuba - and Ursuline x Australie.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

There are improvements such as Grazie, Kurpark Bad Salzschlirf or Graziella. Ursuline x Cuba should bring good results. I dont know Australie. Avoid B. suav. hybrids as pollinators. You might get a whole bunch creme or white colored aurea x suav. - hybrids. They appear in many crosses and look always the same.

Well - that's good to know. I don't have Ursuline just seeds from her. I hope to get something good from them.

Wish you luck!

Monika, i was just thinking about how much room you would need if you still had every brug you had ever grown, and all the seedlings you have raised to blooming size. tons and tons, i can't even fathom.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I can't imagine either Arlene. I'd hate to be a brug trying to make the grade in her garden - LOL!

I dont know it myself. I stopped counting a long time ago.
You have no other choice. There are 25 different pink B. suaveolens available at some retailers list. The difference lies only in the name. Even a expert cannot keep them apart from each other. I have 4, selected out of this bunch, Adora with 38cm long flowers, Flamenco with pinkorange and 32cm long flowers, Rosa Fanfare, which differs completely with 32cm and Favorite's Delight with 36cm long flowers. Not to forget Rosa Traum, a very old hybrid, I use for breeding.

Monika,

Please tell me, do you use Rosa Traum as the mother for a seed pod, or as a pollen donor?

Thanks so much,

Gloria

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Both. But it must be the real Rosa Traum. It is not a true B. suav. When crossed with Logees insignis pink, I received twice yellow flowers, one was a candida type, the other a strongly versicolor influenced hybrid, Taunusgold. Its pictured in my book.

White Pearl is a B. x candida x Rosa Traum cross.

Thank you, Monika. There is no way for sure, to know what you really have, by name, this is from LBJ, so hope it was marked correctly, as I plan to a lot with it this summer.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Gloria, you got Rosa Traum????????? lucky girl!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Yes, tiG, guess we have to line up some more horse trading, er I mean brug trading!

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I have a brug I got at the last trade by someone not sure who but its marked c.ursuline X could this be a simular or am I just hopping

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

irish I was doing a search on something and just found this. you got that from me, and we can only hope, right?? fast growing little buggers!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I have Ursuline x versi Cuba and Ursuline x versi Australie. Hope it comes out nice like this one when they flower.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

These are good crosses, Snow. B x. candida x versicolor bring always good results. Ursuline x Cuba might even have colored hybrids. Keep my fingers crossed for you!

I have a White Pearl X Big growing nicely....think this is one of Monikas seeds....correct?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Yes, it is.

Monika,
What might it look like when it blooms....any guesses?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It could be white, golden or apricot, but I believe, rather white. It could be a double but dont rely on it. This cross has a big pool of genes - it depends, what genes your seedling carries.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I've passed a few of these seedlings around. Hopefully one of us will be lucky and get a colored one out of them.

Never fear....y'all will be the first ones to hear what color mine is when it blooms.
