This hybrid resulted out of a cross of Tiara x Rosamond.
Tiaras offspring with double flowers often have deformed flowers. I crossed this one to several pink colored hybrids, but it threw almost all seed pods. I have only one seedling from this double, used as a motherplant. Its named S1 and the pollinator was Rosabelle. Hope, it will bloom this year.
A deformed double flower, side and bottom
So, you could say this hybrid was not the best at setting seedpods, but from the seedpods you did get...did a large percentage of those seeds germinate for you and grow to flowering size? I note that you only used one seedling as a motherplant from this cross...sounds like it is going to through out some pink doubles for you with that cross back to Rosabelle.
There was only one seed pod holded and this was the the Rosabelle - pollinated pod. Only one seed out of this pod germinated. The deformed double is already composted. It will be interesting, what kind of flower this seedling is going to have. I do not believe, it will turn out to be a double pink. It has to much golden yellow in its genes and it also could have a single flower.
Really interesting stuff Monika!
