Howdy folks...a friend of mine in another city joined up last yr and posted a question. It turns out I answered it. The irony of it all was that I didn't know who he was and vice-versa! HEY! Shoe? Are you sure Greengiant is here? LOL
hello all'
Thanks to all of ya for the warm welcome. sorry it took me so long to get around to getting on here to respond to ya. Between 3 kids, the wife, a weekend camping trip and trying to get my garden up and growing I haven't had a lot of spare time on my hands. It's good to be back and I look forward to talkin' to you all. Not to mention it's been awhile since i've been on here and i'm a little rusty. i had a wee bit of trouble getting around on here but i'm sure i'll get the hang of it in no time.
As for you Shoe, i appreciate the intro. and maybe i will be able to find more time to get on here. gg
You take your time and make yourself right at home. The site has grown so much that it may indeed take a while to figure out the lay of the land. But if you get lost in here one of us will be sure to help you find your way. We look forward to getting to know you.
Ahah!! He's alive!!
Trust me folks...he's always very busy and seems to have entirely too many projects going on. (does a lot of "side work"...need something done? Call Greengiant!) (I'm sure he can add a lot of input to the "Handymans Forum" too...ya'll would benefit from that!)
Nice to see you here GG...let me know how the garden grows. Might make it up that way soon. Hopefully.
Lol Shoe now you know the Green Giant has to take care of sprout lol. I will be looking forward to some of his idea's lordy knows I am running out of them. So GG get back as soon as you can and share some of your ideas with us.
Well howdy folks,
Man have I been busy. I have spent the last few nights plowing up my field and tending to my organic garden. Things are looking right good if I do say so myself. I am fixin' to plant me some corn in the field that I plowed. I guess i'll be through one day. I'm sure all of you know what it's like this time of year.
So how is it going with everyone else?
Hey Shoe, While I was plowing the other night I found 2 baby rabbits in one of my tire tracks. They're still alive.
Mama Giant got here vine planted and it's doing good. She wants to know when will it bloom.
Happy Gardenin' G.G.
Hey GG...plantin corn, huh? How many gallons of squeezins do you get to an acre there? If you have a bumper crop we could have some left for roast'n ears.
GG I have planted some baby corn between the rainy days, shucks I've gotten so good that I can even dodge rain drops lol. I've received two new roses in the mail today so I have to get them planted today. It is suppose to start raining again tomorrow and go straight through until Tues.
My veggies garden is finished, now just have to finsh up on the container plants.
Shoe, funny story - you are something else...
Green giant, WELCOME, sounds like you keep yourself real busy. Hope to see you around. and I can practically smell the freshly tilled soil.
Well, I'm jealous...don't know if I'm gonna get to do any corn (the squirrels tend to get most of it!). (But I know where GG lives! hehehe...).
GG, did you put the baby rabbits in one of your cages? Might make an addition to your hunt club someday, eh?
The vine MamaGiant got is called Cobaea (also called Cathedral Bells or Cup and Saucer Vine). They usually take a while to bloom BUT I started those last October and wintered them over to get them to bloom earlier. I haven't seen any blooms on mine yet except for the rare one I have for seed stock (called Alba...it has whitish/green flowers). I've had one flower on it yet.
Let me know when ya'll start to flower, k?
Roadrunner, your mind would start thinking of "squeezins"!! Hmmm, maybe I ought try corn this yr anyway!
squirrels *giggle* they is funny folks up there...
no shoe, havnt been able to find any beans at all! :0(
gunna have to try another recioe now! dang it all... got any?
now you just look after those little rabbits....hunting indeed! poor babies...... mountain men! pffft!
Wonder! You can learn alot from "mountain men"! τΏτ
By the way, don't ya'll have squirrels in Australia? (They really ain't bad once you know how to cook 'em!)
HEY 27 rows of corn 200 feet long still alive think god for rain. Six diff. kinds of sqaush. Seven diff. kinds pep. I just can't wait to canning starts. Gourds are looking good horseshoe. Thanks for the seeds.
NOTHING better than corn squeezins. HOW much per acre I will never tell?????...............
