Momma, Daddy and Baby

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Momma Rothkirch and Daddy B. x candida Ocre proudly present their most successful offspring; Rosalie.

I thought, it might be a good idea, to post a picture generation for comparing.

Beautiful - for some reason I can't print your pictures anymore.

FSH, TX

Stunning is the word. I can't wait to see what my Butterfly x Rosabella seedlings give me.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Liz, I tried it out and it worked.

FSH, TX

I set that picture as my back ground. Here's hoping I get some first year bloomers from that cross. If not, I'll be making the cross again.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'd be happy with one of each!! Nice color on all of them.

FSH, TX

To be truthful Brugie,
If I had to pick just one I'd have to chose Rothkirch.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

You just aren't as greedy as I am. Yes, it is probably the prettiest one, but the baby isn't bad either.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

All three are beautiful but that baby is stunning.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Monika . . . picture generation is a great idea and I am so glad that you thought of it. Thank you for taking the time to this. Indeed, they are all beautiful.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

All three are beautiful!! I would like to have each of one! ;-)

I'd pick the Rothkirch too if I only could have one. But it sure would be nice to have all of them. Beautiful.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I thought, it would be a good idea. Pictures say a lot more than only names. Rosabelle is another beautiful baby of these two, it differs much from Rosalie.

FSH, TX

Yes, pretty soon will have an entire family tree of blooms. Rothkirch x Ocre, Butterfly x Rosabelle, and so on.....

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Gosh- I hope I ordered this one - I think I did. Now for the dumb question of the day - can you cross sisters? or is that too much inbreeding?

Knoxville, TN

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo[[[[[nana]]]]]sure hope my
Apricot blooms this year ,,,,,it's big

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

You can inbreed sisters, their genetic information differs.
But you might get many aureas.

FSH, TX

Now this...these hybrids are stunning.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I want the baby! NOW!

FSH, TX

Bringing these pictures back up for those wishing to try and create their own Rothkirch. Or in other words, for those too impatient to wait and wanting something equally valuable to hybridize with.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

who would that be?????

So gorgeous. I just love those. Now I will need an Ocre too.

FSH, TX

Brugcrazy,
As ocre is a parent of Butterfly and Rosabelle perhaps we'll get lucky and fet a few of these as well or close approximations while were trying to get our elusive Rothkirch as well. I agree, they are both very stunning hybrids. Its no wonder I like Butterfly so much.

Brugman, My Rothkirch from Hodniks is looking pretty DEAD. Arrived in rough shape and has done nothing. I'm not tossing it yet as maybe it will come back.

Did you get anything interesting with the Aurea x Rothkirch seeds I sent you? I'm waiting for blooms but HOPING.

Brugcrazy, I have a flower out. Usually Brugflowers are green, when only half out. This one is whiteish light green. The whiskers is curled into each other and longer, than Ida`s. In a few days I will know. Edge typical arborea.

FSH, TX

Brugcrazzy,
Sadly none germinated for me. I still have hopes that one of you guys will get lucky though and if not I am putting all of my hopes into Butterfly x Rosabelle or Butterfly x L'amour. Perhaps with either of these two crosses one of us will get lucky. Perhaps, one of us will even get some Rothkirch pollen by then to put on BxR or BxL. LXR or RXL is still a possibility as well although many more seedpods will be lost with the latter crosses.

Post a picture when the flower opens. I've got one flower on the plant that just said Aurea on the envelope. Will wait and see.

Brugman, I have a L'Amour and Butterfly but no flowers on either of them yet. When I get flowers I will definitely do that cross.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Monika, you were so smart to think of putting the pictures all together! Its neat to see the whole family there, and see who the baby looks most like. They are all just beautiful.

Commerce, GA(Zone 8a)

Beautiful!!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

You guys are making me Brugmaniacish....and they do so well here!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Here it is 2 years later and I still want that baby NOW! LOL! I have a best friend Rosalie who just started loving brugs. She needs it also! LOL

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Is Rosalie available in the States? It's truly beautiful, monika.

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

Wow these are just the prettiest colors, and to think you can get them for those two combinations....Good inspiration........:o)

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)
