I could not find a better one.
For Shirley
Thanks Monika. For any of you wondering what this is, I asked Monika for a picture of a Charles Grimaldi.
Nice serration on the one leaf.
i thought i saw some serrated leaves. i would be more confused but i am not gonna think about it today.
Its the Logees CG Brugie. Serrated leaves are seldom seen on the plant, arlene.
I know what you mean Arlene. My brain is about fried worrying about CG, JO, Suess, FP, IP, and the list goes on. I do have to say that the one I have that I thought was CG, didn't have this color for a bloom. The leaves on mine were all deeply toothed. So, I think it must be a Suess. Hey, maybe Suess isn't Suess. Wouldn't that just ice the cake? :-)
Yep, i was trying to do the scarlet ohara thing, "i'll think about it tomorrow" before i went and laid down with the vapors. Thanks, Monica, it seems earl told brugie it threw out an occasion serrated leaf. still wondering if i need one seeing how many Dr Suess i ended up with......
Our brugmansias have a genetic fingerprint, if I may say so. Plants with the same genetic information (cuttings from a motherplants) are steril. They cannot be crossed with each other. This still works with my old CG from Logees after 20 years making cuttings from cuttings etc. Many of these plants are thrown in thousands from dutch nurseries each year new on our markets and it still works. So cross your CGs with Dr. Suess and JO and vice versa. It must be at least five flowers of each be pollinated with the other. Might sound complicated, but is not. When none of them has a seed pod, then all you have to think about, what plants you have: CG, JO, or Suess LOL. JO is a clone of my CG, imported from Logees.
