Good morning all! Two weeks ago we had record lows - today it is supposed to hit 89. We need rain so badly. Last weeks' rain didn't last long. Saturday night, a local turkey farmer lost a barn with 3600 turkeys in it. One of the employees was burning some thrash and the fire spread to the building. The wind is really blowing again today. Last night I could smell smoke before going to bed and checked all four directions as I was so nervous. We got our alfalfa seeded on Saturday and I pray that it rains not only for us but for all farmers.

Our neighbor came and tilled our garden with his little tractor and tiller. Now I have to be nice to this guy. Does that sound ungrateful? You people have heard me tell you some of the stories about this moron. I think he tries but he lets his mouth start yapping and doesn't think. In fact he was bragging that his son won a silver medal at the FFA state contest. Well he forgot that dd helped record and send out the awards. It was funny because after he "bragged". DD said "Oh I didn't realize anyone from his Chapter did so well". She said he looked at her kind of sheepishly and said that he forgot that she helped with the Convention this year. DD wanted to say so badly "gotcha!" but she didn't.

Lisa - congrats on selling and buying your new place! Same to you Karla! Mary - I can't even fathom moving that far. The only move we made in the last 25 years is when we built our house and we moved from the trailer house to the new house which was about 100 feet and that was bad enough.

Okay - I don't want to bash men - but sometimes do you just wonder about them? (Sorry Horseshoe). In dh's job with the military, he has a great deal of responsiblity, does a lot of "strategic" planning, etc. etc. This a.m. I was sitting here thinking - next week he has to attend a non-military convention in Reno. What is he going to wear? His clothes consist of military and farm and one dress suit. So I guess this afternoon I need to go to Kohls and pick out some clothes for him because I have no confidence in his clothes picking abilities.

Well need to go - going to work in garden this a.m. before it gets too hot.
