I need some of that chemical stuff you guys are talking about to get hard to germinate seed to grow.Where can I get some.I just need a small amount,I'm trying some hymalian blue poppy seeds (AGAIN)and I don't want to fail AGAIN!Do they sell it in small amounts?Where would I go?Is there something I can just buy at Home depot?
anyone have any
CC,
Direct soil them on the soil NOW while the weather is still cool. Press the seeds gently into the surface. They should root very quickly...I just sowed mine 3 days ago and some are sprouting now. Remember if you want them to be perennial you have to nip the flower buds the first year!!!
Poppysue is the expert, she will probably have a comment to make I'm sure...I read her other posts and hurried out and did mine.
Joydie
jodie, you planted hymalian blue poppy seeds 3 days ago and they already sprouted? I've never even gotten 1 to sprout.....I can grow regular poppies ....just not these...
CC - meconopsis seeds need to be fresh. They die quickly in dry storage. I don't think GA3 will help and it may even to cause them to rot. I'd plant them is cell packs now and leave them outside in the cool temps. Just cover them lightly with soil. Meconopsis can handle transplanting better than most poppies.
You can get G3 very reasonably priced from JL Hudson.
starting at 100mg for $ 5
And comes with instructions (o:
