Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I have a friend that is dying of cancer..she doesn't have long to live...she is a great gardener of roses and other flowers. I want to name a brug after her....and show her before she is gone..I was thinking about naming this white hybrid Jean Pasco type I did a few years ago..huge flowers of Pristine white.Whats everybody think..I need answers quickly..she is at deaths door...:-(

Please tell us here name and the plant's new name. It's a very pretty brug. Sorry to hear about her, i know it's hard, probably harder on her family and friends than her.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Her name is "Claire Mills" was going to name it white Jean Pasco..but that may be confusing to everyone. Her and her husband are in their 80's and no relatives that I know of..

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Kyle . . . I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I think that naming your white Jean Pasco after her is a wonderful idea and I feel that she would be very pleased. I think Claire is a lovely name and I hope that you include it somewhere in the naming of the brug.

You should name what you wish. You do not need approval. Brugmansia Claire Mills has a nice ring to it! Let's all pray for your friend.

Kyle,
Your new white brug is lovely ..my compliments to you!
I have named several of my plants for those dear to me I lost. It's a wonderful tribute where they get to live on in our hearts and memories. But especially special when they are still around to know you are naming for them. As they get to enjoy, too...and add to our memories.
Of all the fancy brugs ...I still like the pure and simple 'whites' best (o:

Kyle,

Moonlight Claire is a nice name since the flower is shining silver white like the moon and Claire for your dear friend.

Sorry to hear about one so close to you...Its always difficult to see these dear ones in a time like this. My prayers go out to you, your friend Claire and her DH.

Hugs for you too, I'm sure you need them also.

Kyle, I must confess I don't like too many whites. I cull most of mine. That one has a very nice wide bell shape combined with a shortness that I like though. As you know, I like wide flaring short flowers best and that one certainly fits the bill. She seems to show an elegance about her that reminds me of those old fashioned hoop dresses pulled unnaturally tight around the top. The sides seem to twist ever so slightly as they gather around her ankles. Yes, I must confess I like this hybrid of yours Kyle and that is a most fitting name, Claire.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Kyle, my thoughts are with you during these sad times.
Naming one of your brugs after your dear friend, is the ultimate honor you can bestow on her and give immense meaning to your relationship.
I hope that you will let us know what name you have finally decided on.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

OOOPS! I goofed..her name is spelled "Clare" not Claire....a mistake on my part.

Probably named after County Clare in Ireland. That's my sister's name. Great name for a brug.

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

No matter ~ Claire and Clare sound equally melodic! And spelling sure doesn't change the beauty of immortalizing your friend one whit, Kyle.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

My hybrid Marie Gerrits has the name of good decent dutch friend od mine. She died several years ago. This hybrid is one of my favorites, a very heavy bloomer with a wonderful fragrance. The color is White, the flower has longer hairs as usual (seen in my book). I devoted this hybrid to her as it became one of my favorites, when it started flowering.

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Kyle,

How elegant she looks, just like your friend does I am sure. What a nice tribute to pay your friend and she will always be around now. You and your friends and in my thoughts and prayers. Dee
