Before you do, I just wanted to let you know that I talked to Mike Kartuz and Fantasma is the same thing as Shredded White. I wish I had written to him before I ordered. However, if you are looking for some nice brugs and named ones, he has good prices. My plant from him was $7.50 and was about 15 inches tall.

Ordering Fantasma???
Brugie...how afst did you get your plants..I orddered from them before and it took over two months to get them.
I ordered some time ago. Probably about six weeks. However, I kept writing and adding things to my order. Mike will answer emails. You could write and ask how quickly they could mail out an order.
Hmmmm...I was going to order this one from them (along with two others), but I have decided to wait and try some cuttings from members first. Kartuz says delivery is four to six weeks on the site. For some reason I thought Fantasma was some hybrid form of shredded white (or would have just been called shredded white?). "Inca Queen" is probably a normal sanguinea then. I like the fancy names tho.
Riseann...their Inca Queen is a sanquinea yellow if I remember it right. I saw it afew years ago at their nursery in Vista.
Brugie - I had the Fantasma on order and cancelled the order in early September. I'm so glad you told us this - I've been regretting not getting it ever since.
The yellow one is 'Yellow Queen'. That's one that I ordered. I thought Inca queen was supposed to be all red - but their desription says red-orange with a yellow throat. It does sound like the regular sanguinea.
I ordered from them and got my order in about 3 weeks. I got the Fantasma, but it doesn't really look like the shredded white that I have. It was a nice size plant when I got it. It is outside now and has grown quite a bit. The leaves are really dark green and really fuzzy. I will post a picture of it once it gets bigger and then maybe can get opinions on it.
Dee, this is strange, because the one I got from them has light leaves compared to the one I already had. I'm not sure that the leaves are even the same shape. Will grow it and see what it is for sure. The things you sent are doing very well too.
i hear a challenge....was up late and somehow got my camera to down load pics (the newer PCs have software for camera downloads like they do printers etc), couldn't get it to work before thought my camera was too old. if it quits raining will take a pic of my shredded white. if they are somewhat different i wonder what the breeding difference would be?
I was going to send one of these to Hibiscus, but if they are different, I'd kind of like to see it for myself. Might have to send her a plant later on. I've babied the one I got in a trade for months, so don't want to give it up and really do want to see what they look like side by side. Decisions, decisions......
it's the brug addiction.
I know Arlene, and you know I share when I have material for cuttings, but when I haven't seen one bloom, I kinda hate the thoughts of giving it away in case it might be something different from what I already have. Oh well, I'll figure it out and certainly won't leave Gloria without. She is a good friend and trader.
Had to change some spelling errors......Too early for me to be typing.

Ms Brugie, i find that when they put up new shoots at the bottom i can usually get them out with a bit of root and they root pretty quickly, bottom side shoots too. i know some people don't like to cut on them, i was that way my first year, but now when i see a place i just do it!
Thanks Arlene, There are some nice shoots at the bottom of both plants. Maybe I can get one or two of those off clean and send her a start that way. Been out cleaning off the deck. Company arriving in an hour and a half. Got to go fix lunch. Have a great day everyone.

You are a very good friend, also, no hurry on the plant, see what you have first, then whenever, doesn't matter to me, whether, sooner or later.
Have fun with your company, seems you are always having to cook, think someone should take you out to eat once in awhile.
Gloria
Thanks Gloria, but we only had them about 4 hours this afternoon and then they went to Jim's moms. May still be there. Good afternoon though. Got my garden tilled so I'm ready to plant brugs around the outside edge.
OK, I was outside working today and I have the shredded white - haven't seen it bloom but that is what it is supposed to be. I put it next to the 'Fantasma', just really not the same. My shredded white doesn't have any hair on it, should it? and the leaves are not the same either, to me anyway, but I haven't been doing them that long so I could just be all wet behind the ears.
Any opinions yet??
Dee, both of mine have velvety leaves, but the color is light on one and dark on the other. The one from Kartuz is light in color. I'm betting they might have some difference in them when push comes to shove. Of course, the one I got in a trade may not be the real thing either. Will just have to wait for blooms I guess.

Brugie . . it could be that Kartuz did not feed theirs as well as you have fed yours and that could be the difference in the color of leaves. Are they the same otherwide?
Not quite. One looks to be longer and more narrow. Guess we will find out after they bloom. Maybe sooner as they are growing.
Brugie . . . you will have keep us up to date on this one.
