Eric's white hybrid

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

This seedling is from seeds I received from Arlene marked Eric's White hybrid. Wonder what it will turn out to be. Oh, the anticipation. LOL

I hope it has color for you. mama was fragrant, first to set seed and every bloom developed a pod i think. am pretty sure was another DrS X EP. tell me, do you have just one plant somewhere that doesn't look great?

Arlene, I don't know if I should keep doing what I'm doing with the Brugs or stop doing what I'm doing with them.LOL They are growing like crazy. I had to take my chair out of the GH and they have now filled 3/4 of it up with still almost two months to go before I can plant them out. May have to bring the smaller ones back in the house under lights again. What I wouldn't give right now to live in a warm climate.

Snow, how cold are your nights now? Once they stay 40 or above, you should be able to put them outside and even if you have to house them at night, some time outside, if the temps are high enough, would be good for them. Seems like for me, the cooler temps help to harden up the trunk. Might be in my feeble mind, but I guess if it makes me feel okay, it must be okay. :-)

5 degrees last night Shirley and it hasn't gone above twenty yet at night. :(

Oh my, and I was griping about 30's!! I set some of my seedlings out in a cold frame(stole the space from DH in the Rose House!!) and it was 30 that night. Some of the leaves were droopy the following morning, but by afternoon they had straightened up and looked fine. It's going to be in the upper 40's for the rest of the week I think.

Snowhermit,
Your seedling looks great. Mine are doing also doing well. Like you I have a long wait until May comes before I can put them outdoors. I found the one of Eric's Isabella crosses send out side shoots quickly. I can hardly wait to see my first bud. I still battling gnats. I never had a problem with these before I started to grow the brugs and I find it a tough job to keep them under control. Once May comes and the plants are outdoors I'm going to have to take some drastic steps to get rid of any in the house.

Oh my, that is a very cold night temp for this time of the year. Probably normal for you, but I don't know if I could deal with it. So, when is your first frost date in the fall? You are so lucky you have your greenhouse to get a jump start and probably to finish up your bloom and seed pollination/pod maturing. I hope your weather will surprise you this year and give you a longer growing season.

Snowhermit,
We still get the odd day with gentle flurries that last for about 5 minutes. I need to go south for a week or something...I'm fed up with this years drastic shift in temperatures...first snowfall in January which was RARE and now winter is lingering on past its usual time.
