not bad for my first try.
my thanks and heartfelt appreciation to Arlene and Eric for the seeds :) and inspirations!
50 day old seedling
Pebble, are all your seedlings from eric's seeds or do you have other kinds too? when you get them in the ground they are gonna take off. you did a good job with them.
Arlene, only what you sent me is what I planted.
We had three glorious days of sunshine, and then the rain and gray came back today, and the forecast is for another straight 10 days of rain. Egads!!! I am going to go stir crazy here. The only things flourishing in my garden are the weeds. Believe me, my flower beds are being over run by weeds, I dont know how I am going to manage to get them all out.
Again, thanks for the seeds!
Good job Pebble. Nice looking seedling.
Thank you Snow. I just hope that I dont kill them before I can get them outside. I am soooo excited about seeing them flower, the anticipation is killing me.
Ten days of rain, wow! hope they're wrong.
Good job, pebble, lookin' good, may even bloom for you before summer is over, hope so.
And the excitement only grows as they grow bigger.I swear I think I've worn out the hinges on the greenhouse door checking to see if another bud opened in the last 10 minutes.LOL
tell me your secret for starting the seeds. I planted 50 and so far only 1 has popped. I am so discouraged. It has been just over a month. What AM i doing wrong???
Congrats Pebble!! Hope you get some sunshine soon.
Sarv, I planted most of my seeds the end of Dec.Some of the results are in the greenhouse and about two ft tall. I still have some cell packs in the house that never sprouted and yesterday one of the seeds decided it was going to pop up.Don't give up on them yet. Their still slowly sprouting for me and just when I was getting ready to throw them all out.
Sarv, I really think they key is fresh seeds, I know the ones I got from Arlene/Eric were fresh, then I soaked mine 24 hours or more, peeled them,I planted them in those expandable little pellets, and put them in one of those mini greenhouses that you can buy for 5 bucks or so, you know the ones I mean?, and within days they started to emerge. I did not have them on a heat mat, and I did not have them under lights till they were about an inch or two tall. Then, the leaves were looking kinda sorry with tinges of yellow in them, and calla suggested fiving them a weak solution of fertilizer, which I did, and they have been growing steadily ever since.
Pebble . . . Congratulations - - such a pretty seedling. I know that you are thrilled. It will be so big before you know it. F.
BrugNanny, I hope so, in fact, I am counting on it! I have been waiting for so long.....
Pebble,
I've read all your posts of recent and you are doing a great job with your babies. Won't it be fun when they finally bloom? Hope you will post a picture or two of them at that point too. I'm glad you are tossing the one brug, just in case. I think it was Monika that told me one time that it is better to be safe than sorry. I had a Whiskers that I had to toss. Now I've forgotten about it and have moved on to more brugs. Whiskers will come later. I just want bloom now. Good luck with your seedlings. I sure hope you have time for them to bloom this year.
