I received this hybrid 1994 from Herrenhausen. Dr. Preissel did not know the exact cross anymore. It resulted in three seedlings. He wanted to name all of them Pink Favorite, as there was not much difference. HG 90 - 95 is one of these seedlings but has complete different leaves, more like suaveolens. Pink Favorite has insignis like leaves, narrow, lanceolate and the flower has a richer color. There was quite a disput between Dr. Preissel and me about the naming. Seedlings have different genes and can therefore be crossed together with viable seeds. Giving three seedlings the same name would bring much more confusion into the scene as we already have. 'My' Pink Favorite has an extradonary sign: a dark deep pink borderline as seen on the corolla. If you order Pink Favorite, you might get either the first or HG 90 - 95. Some retailers dont know the difference between the two. I dont know, what happened to the third seedling.
Pink Favorite
As always Monika, your hybrids are the stuff dreams are made of. I love the dark and light pink shades and the rich green leaves. Very healthy looking. Is it extremly vigorous as well?
Not at my place. I sold to Italy and I have seen pictures of it, flowering there.. All I can say - its a dream.
Very Nice Brug. I'm really beginning to like the darker colors now.
Favorite's Delight is a cross between Pink Favorite x Pink Delight.
I like the dark and the light too.Nice work!
One thing is for sure CC, Monika has changed the way I will be hybridizing.
I bought a pink favorite cutting off ebay a few weeks ago. Sure would be great if it looks like that.
I'm surprised you can buy the Euros on ebay. Can you share the seller's name with us?
I will go through my old emails and see if I can come up with the person I bought it from. I also bought one she called 2nd Generation White. Will see what I can come up with. She has no listings at this time on their.
Gotta get this one too, i think i can find this in US will it be preiseel's or yours, Monika?
Pink Favorite is a Preissel hybrid.
Love the color, thanks for sharing.
Monika . . . another stunning flower.
Lily, Pink Favorite has a broad dark pink band on the corolla edge. No other as Pink Favorite and HG-90/95, a sister to Pink Favorite, have this. HG-90/95 has broader, suaveolens like leaves, while PFs leaves are narrower.
I'm going to cross my fingers that mine will look like this one. Thanks for bringing this thread back to the top, Monika.
Well maybe my other one will look like that. Will be keeping my fingers crossed also.
