Bug Question ???

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

For the last couple of days I have noticed buds lying on the ground. These are not the baby buds but the ones that the flower has dropped down but not opened. I have checked this plant and the only bugs that I find on it are the green stink bugs and they are around the bud area where it is attached to the main stem. The buds are chewed off right at the stem. The leaves are fine so I cannot figure out what kind of bug is doing this unless it is the green stink bugs. There are a lot of small buds on it and they are not being bothered . . at the moment anyway. I need HELP!!!

Looks like you better start picking those stink bugs off the brugs. Seems like I read someplace on the tomato forum that those bugs caused some kind of problem and since these plants are related, it could very well be the stink bugs. I'm sure you would rather see the blooms open than lying on the floor. Someone with some experience with this will surely come along and let you know what is going on.

BrugNanny, try this (everyone else close your eyes). Early in the morming spray with Raid flying bug spray. I usually use a spray that you can use on vegetables if i need to use one. i let cats eat my brugs til they get to the bugs then i gotta zap them. what kind of brugs do you have with buds?

Arlene the brug that has buds is one that a friend gave me last year. It is one of those no names that is a double white with very large velvety dark green leaves, but it is special because it came from my friend of 35 years.

Thanks for the Raid suggestion (I know Raid is a dirty word here - but like Arlene said: Close your eyes) I have to do something. The other day I put a powder on the bud area that is made from natural oils that is suppose to repel but it did not work. Looks like it is time for the "Big Guns."
