Was I shocked!!!!!!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

yesterday at noon I went in to work to pickup a few things.I checked my brug seed tray and nothing.....Today I come in at 7 AM and DANG!!!!About 24 of the little devils had come up overnight...of course the flat is on heat..but OVERNIGHT?? These were Versicolor Ec. Pink X White Jean Pasco

Congrats Eclipse. Isn't it exciting when that many come up overnight. Way to go. Should be a nice cross.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

brugcrazy..it was fresh seed too though.

Fresh seed makes a big difference, doesn't it.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Wow! That is fast especially for them to all come up at once. Way to go Eclipse!!!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Eric . . . I can see that you still get excited about those little seedlings popping their heads. I feel sure that is a feeling that never goes away. It is really great when so many come up. Interesting cross. What are you looking for in the way of flower on these?

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Isnt that exciting Kyle...

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I bet, you had a bright smile in your face seeing all these seedlings freshly popped up.

I finally moved my plants into the larger greenhouse. I started already with it last Tuesday but I wasnt feeling well as I had not overcome the flu completely and therefore I started slowly. . But now, I am finished, feeling being 10cm shorter as before because of the many walking back and forth and having arms being 10cm longer because of carrying all the plants. Tonight, I'll bet that I will dream of Brugmansias.

Tomorrow I will start planting the seedlings into larger pots, removing dead roots on the older ones and giving them fresh soil. With about 400 plants, I might be ready by Saturday. Kyle, there isnt a chance that you feel being bored?

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Monika....Who me be bored????? Like I have time for that!!LOL

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Eclipse, is this an april fools day thing? if not, can i send you my seeds to start?

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Arlene..not a joke..they were planted for about 7 days before they came up..the soil was about 80 F in a warm greenhouse.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

That is truly remarkable, hope they grow as fast!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Way to go Kyle. Now, what are you going to do with all of them? Start filling up that driveway again.....

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Good luck new babys are always nice to watch grow

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Congratulations Kyle!! I need to send mine to you too.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I think it helped that it was fairly fresh seeds too! Older seeds take a LOOONG time sometimes.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Oh, I was just hoping....... need a helping hand.

Monika,

I'm free for the summer...LOL. I would be dancing in the greenhouse, despite my bad knees looking at all those wonderful brugs. I'm glad to hear you are getting a little better, but try not to overdo yourself too much.

It was such a nice and warm day today and I wanted to plant at least all the seedlings into larger pods. My DH had the table and the chairs placed in front of the greenhouse - and I fell asleep in my comfortable chair. I couldnt help it, it felt like having rocks hanging on my eyelids.

Tomorrow I have to catch up the work missed today.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Monika, it is so cold here today and very windy. I ate my lunch, covered up with a throw, and laid back in my recliner and took a nap. Felt sooooo good to get some rest, especially knowing there was nothing else I could do anyway. Will have lots of time later to work.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It will become colder again on Friday. I just heard it in the forecast. Cold air is coming from the east (Russia). In summer, these are stable and long lasting warm summer highs, but in the winter and this time of the year, it means Daddy Frost is coming back.
