I need advice. Received a number of hybrid lily seeds in trade and need advice on starting them. Have Star Gazer, Expressions, Hop Holland, White Trumpet, and White Mountain. I love lilies and really want these to do well. Any little tips would be greatly appreciated. Also have Japanese iris seeds. Found planting tips, but it didn't say if I needed to soak them. My seeds and I thank you, Pam

try this site Pam ... http://www.angelfire.com/ri/ixia/growlilium.html
Thanks Sis and Ma Vie, very good info. I have it printed out and though it will take a while, I think I can do this. Good things come to he who waits. Pam
very welcome Pam :D!
Pam - I did some lilies last year from seeds. I had Regal lilies - which germinated easily and sent out their first leaves quickly. And I also had success with Martagon lilies. They needed the warm-cold-warm stratifying method. I sprouted them in paper towels and stratified them in the fridge. I have a journal entry about them although it's probably not a lot of help - http://davesgarden.com/journal/viewentry/142/index.html
I'm anxious to see how they've done over the winter. Hope to get a couple blooms from the Regal lilies this year. I'm sure it will be a long wait for the martagons to bloom.
