Oh yes, for sure. I hope mine will be large enough to bloom this year.

Eric, are arbores supposed to die back in the summer and is this one from Tonny?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

My arborea has one flower open and I try to breath in all the fragrance I had to miss during this long winter months.
I pollinated Mobisu with this arborea, but I dont know if it will be taken. The Mobisu flower was already two weeks old.

All I can tell you Arlene is that the arborea I saw in Vero died back a bit in the summer time and then came back. As we are many hours north of Vero though we might not get any die back at all. Only time will tell as they say.

Monika, a 2 week old flower! that mobisu is one i have added to my list. Brugman, hoping they don't die back, have one coming, guess i'll stick it in a pot so i can move it.

Just stick em in the ground Arlene. Of course, I killed my Roter Vulkan by letting it overwinter outside its first year. Apparently it needs to be a bit older before you over winter them outside. Its a shame something so beautiful was so weak. Definitly love to get some Roter Vulkan pollen though to breed for vigor with that one. I think thats my only option with those type crosses for right now. I hope to breed vulcanicola and sanguinea genes into arborea and grow enough of each cross that I can select for the strongest one or two from each cross and to heck with colors for the first few generations.

Eric, is Arborea one that also can't take the heat?

FSH, TX

Arborea takes the heat much better than sanguinea and vulcanicola. I have gotten sanguinea's to make it for 2 years in Florida. I am overly optimistic about these arborea as they seem very vigorous and extremely easy to root. Of course if I could get some of that mobisu pollen for my arborea flowers I would be almost as happy as if I'd gotten some Rothkirch pollen. On a side note, the cold was what killed my Roter Vulkan, not the heat.
