Good morning, everyone! I found out my MIL uses light mayo in her macaroni and potato salads, so that's nice to know for Sunday's Easter cook-out. If we can just handle the other temptations within reason...

I'm still coughing like a seal, but I've been good about not just comforting myself with food. I've been munching the baby carrots and drinking my water.

Howie made a spreadsheet in Excel which shows his starting weight and his loss each week so far. It keeps track of his average weight loss per week, and he can look at it and tell about how much he'll lose in a given number of weeks that way. It's pretty darned encouraging when you look at things long-term like that!

I don't agree so much with the author's saying "there is little that is pleasant about dieting".

I think it can be pleasant -- and even empowering, if you'll pardon the buzzword -- to find new ways to enjoy food and to have control over what you eat.

But what do YOU think? What are your thoughts?
