Janet Reno
Wow! Eric is this one of your crosses?
It was a seedling of mine. I took a few cutting off of it before it bloomed and gave these away. I always plant a few of my seedlings close by the house to give me luck with my seedlings in the field. This was one of my good luck hybrids that I culled before it bloomed for me. It also happens to be one of the best from that cross in my oppinion. Still, I haven't seen this one in bloom or a side view yet, but from what I can tell the color is pretty even. From what I have heard it is very fragrant as well.

Brugman, was trying to see the rest of MzMs pics and couldn't get it to work some how. i'd like to see a side shot of JR. btw, she forgot the "hybridized by...."
Yes, I saw that as well, but in her defense she doesn't have the hybridizers of any of the hybrids she has listed so no offense taken. On the contrary, I am honored that she liked it enough to give it a name.
I see that we think along the same lines though Arlene. Both of us wanted to see a side view. Still, thinking that a scratch and sniff feature might be more than worthwhile.

it's really pretty, wish i could see the rest of her pics, something about java on my machine i think.
That is a stunning flower. It is absolutely gorgeous and you should be very proud of yourself. I also think everyone should give credit when they know who the hybridizer is. It would only take a moment to add and I truly feel that some just do not realize the meaning this would have to the hybridizer and to the people looking at the flower and information.
Very Pretty Eric, but the name doesn't fit it very well, in my opinion. Needs a "pretty" name. Guess I don't think pretty when I'm looking at the real Janet Reno. :-) If I stuck my foot in my mouth, just yell "Chew!"
S.
Brugie, ROFL.... see, i had resisted the foot in mouth thing...(when i think of janet reno i think of waco and elian gonzalez) But now all that's changed, will think of a pretty brug with very long horns, i mean whiskers, or tendrils or peaks...........
All the pictures are great!Eric ,nice hybrid.I like the last picture,it says it all at the end.
Arlene, I was hoping I wasn't the only one. :-) It is a pretty flower to say the least. I guess I'm trying to develope a sense of humor. Haven't had much of one all winter. :-(
Brugman, this is a beautiful flower. I love the waved corolla with its long tips. Lets see some more pictures of it.
It sure is a beauty. Great job Eric.
Wow Eric! Nice flower. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with this year.
Brugmansia I like it!! Has a neat Character....does it open more or stay twisted? That would be a great name Brug. "Twisted" :-)
Eric, it's beautiful. I bet you get a lot of pictures this year of your crosses!
You culled this one? Please tell me you didn't lawnmower it~~
Eclipse,
I honestly can't say that much about it as I culled it before it bloomed. I did snip off a few cuttings to send out and hence we have this one with a name. The owner of this one tells me it gets a band of pink around the middle. I made that cross both ways as well. Seems that others had more luck with her than I did though.
Tig,
I just planted one of my lucky seedlings in the ground and so heres hoping it blooms before the summer is out. Its only a few weeks old as of now, but I expect blooms or else!
Liz,
As you well know, I lawnmower all my seedling that don't bloom early so yes, this one was culled. Makes one reconsider cullling early though doesn't it?
Monika,
I will most certainly try to get some more pictures of this one. Lets just hope the other pictures are as flattering as this one is.
Thank you everyone for the nice comments. Heres hoping you all get much better hybrids then this one this year.
Eclipe,I think someone named a brug twisted sister....
CC - I think Tonny mentioned a Twisted Sister.
Not his sister of course......
Egadds, I just saw a picture of this one from the side and it has to be the best one from that cross in my oppinion. She has promised to post a side picture of this one for us on here site. It has a rippled edge going all the way around it when its fully opened, color goes all the way up, and it has orange to pink ribbons going up the sides. Tendrils aren't half bad either.
Brugman, do you have your cuttings of this in the ground yet? waiting on the side pic, let us know..
Brugman- I think you ought to get it back and re-name it Twisted Sister.
Eric it really is a beauty and I'm waiting in anticipation of seeing further pictures of this one. I don't know about anyone else, but the pictures being posted on this forum are both educational and wonderful to see. Keep sending in those pictures people please.
Joydie
Brugman I am going to read Harry Potter and when I've learned, my ghost will cross the ocean and fix your lawnmower that way, so every time you start em to run over your seedlings, he runs backwards - chasing you!!!! LOL
