Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

We left to come home from St. Louis a little early yesterday because of the freezing rain and snow prediction here. Even though I had left someone to look after the livestock they were glad to see me. Hubby will have to go and buy a couple of bales of hay today. I can't believe the weather here. My beautiful daffodils are frozen solid. I planted about 50 new bulbs last fall and was anxious to see what colors they were. I had just bought a bag of them at a farmer's market. No labeling. I bought quite a few bargain iris that way last year as well. Thought it would be fun to be surprised by the colors and then move them around later.
My pygmy goat babies are doing wonderfully. They are sooo cute. The mom isn't her usual self and doesn't get them in the middle of the feeding freezy, so I've been trying to isolate her so the babies don't get trampeled. She is a really good Mom.
I don't even think it needs to be said, but would someone check on Spring? The ground was workable on Saturday and I planted my onion bulbs but ever since then the temps have plummeted. Haven't planted potatoes yet. EvaMae, have you gotten yours planted? Are you going to plant yukon gold? When does your garlic go in?
Jewel, How's "Midge"? Could she be a dwarfed calf?. I suppose her coloring is called a red necked roan
I need to go to town today and get my driver's license renewed. eyuk.
