Check your var. suav., if it could be Klerx variegata. The corollas of the flowers are not full developed, the leaves look crippled, not so nice and smooth as of Maya. Klerx variegata grows very slow and is very sensitive. It does not survive the cold winter temperatures in my greenhouse. I dont know if Hodnik has it in his collection.
Photo suaveolens Klerx variegata
Monika, I just ordered a Suaveolens Variegata from Logees. I have had one before and the mites devoured it. That was back when I knew NOTHING about growing brugs. The one I ordered looks (by the picture in the catalog) just like yours. I remember the last one I had growing very slowly, but didn't know that there was a difference in any of them back then. I'm hoping to be able to keep this one alive. Guess if it makes it, I'd better bring it in the house for the winter for sure. Glad you posted this picture and the information.
I looked into Logees website and it could be Klerx var. But maybe its another, more vigorous variegata. Wish it for you.
My Klerx Variegata is much slower growing than either Peaches& Cream or Maya. It hasn't bloomed yet. The leaves on it are not nearly as smooth as P & C or Maya.
The temperature in my GH is about 75 F. right now. It's warm and sunny here, I'm transplanting brugs outside in a tee shirt and moving them to the conservatory. It's finally finished and I'm very very happy. :)
can't wait to see pictures of it Jeanne!!!!!!!!!
Brugie, I bought a Suaveolens Variegata and a Peaches & Cream from Logees when I visited their greenhouses. The difference that I see is that the P&C has grown quite fast with several new shoots and and it has grown into a nice full plant. The Suaveolens Variegata is much slower growing and has only grown a few new leaves on the top. It's also a nice plant but definitely not as fast growing as the P&C.
I have a P&C from Gloria and it just isn't growing much at all. The suaveolens variegata that I had before grew faster than this P&C is growing. Guess I'll just have to wait and see. In fact, I did get a couple of blooms on the Variegata before the mites enhaled it. They have a pretty little bloom. My first plant got about 3 ft. tall before it croaked. It probably took it about three months to reach that height after I received the plant at about a foot tall.
