I found this lovely hibiscus in bloom when I got home today from work, called `Morning Glory' I got it as a 3" potted plant from Logees last fall late. Now its about 12 " high and starting to bloom.. I love this one.

I love that,The only tropical hibiscus I get to bloom are plain red, although one that I'm rooting seems to have a bud,it will probably be plain red, gotta find bi-colors this year.Kyle how many hibiscus do you have?can you save pollen from them?

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Crestedchik I have about 20 kinds of hibiscus now..I never tried to save pollen from them.. I grew tropical hibiscus from seed before..but most need to be grafted after thsy grow a while..the roots tend to be weak on many of them.I'll post more pics as the others bloom. :-)

That is a great picture and a lovely flower and the first time I have seen one. Is it a hardy hibiscus and how tall will it get?

You are getting me in trouble here with all these pictures. I'm getting so I want one of everything I see and some things are things I've never had an interest in. I'm already over budget this spring and I haven't even begun to buy the soils and pots. I see an earthquake coming here. That is really a gorgeous bloom.

3" pot or tall? Do you ever get stuff when they have their fall plant sale? I'm thinking ahead here. The pain from spring buying will be gone by then and I can work a few purchases in before I start the spring thing over again. I may be old, but I'm still thinking. :-)

I surely don't need another obsession. I have a friend that has a wholesale nursery and she just got in a couple dozen of the new hibiscus. Bill bought "The Path" and "Ring of Fire"/"Ross Este" from her for me. I had been wanting them for a very long time. She collects hibiscus and these were a couple of her personal plants. They were in 5 gallon pots and were blooming!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

They must be huge plants if they are in 5 gal. pots. I just love the "Ring of Fire". Had never seen it until you gave me that web site the other night. I was going nuts looking at all those hibiscus. I would have bought that blue one and shared it with Kyle, but I couldn't figure out how to order it. Then I decided I better keep control before Jim really figures out what I've been doing with my flowers and greenhouse. I've been known to change my mind though.

Kyle, your picture is much prettier than the one in the catalog.

Come on Elaine, let me look in my collections and see what I can get you "hooked" on. I've decided that one of anything is never enough!!

This one is beautiful Kyle. I saw some the other day and there were three twisted together in a pot. They were red and I want different colors as the reds are too common. My brother has 2 red plants that are now over 15 years old and the bushes are 8 feet tall. When they flower they are absolutely beautiful.
