Eric,
Your "Isabella" crosses are growing wonderfully here under the grow lights and I have others now planted up into 1 and 2 gallon pots. I've carefully numbered each and every one of them. I've kept a journal on their progress. The amazing thing is that of the 20 or so seeds I received there are 2 small seedlings that are putting out auxillary stems from the main branch already as the main stem continues to grow. The seedlings are only at the 3 leaf stage and not yet planted up into larger pots. Have you noticed this on any of you seedlings from this cross?
Sounds like your garden will be wonderful. The original English Cottage gardens were planted with various vegetables. Later when the Monasteries were closed, the English included herb beds in their cottage gardens. It wasn't until centuries later until the luxury of flowers were included in the gardens. It sounds to me that you "Garden Enclosed" (Song of Solomon) will be exquisit, like a true Garden of Edens with all the savouries and fragrance to surround you and your family.
I thought I might also create a "Garden Enclosed" in the front of my century old home. My brother agreed to dig the holes for me so I can sink the pots into the ground. Wish it was mild enough here to plant into the ground but we have yet another 2 months to wait. Good luck with your garden and keep us posted with pictures.

An herb garden in the center...now that would be something. Anyone know where to get any cilantro seeds or Rosemary with pink or blue flowers?
I think I've got cilantro, let me check
rats, don't have any cilantro left, sorry
I have rosemary with blue flowers, it is not the upright kind, but the spreading kind. let me know if you want some
Eric,
Try creating an "Herb Knot" in the center with various types of low growing Thyme, Lavender to use as a border like hedge, Sage, Globe Basil, Dill and other culinary herbs. It will look spectacular. The Herb Knot is akin to planting various herbs within the space created between the spokes of a wheel. Be sure to include cutting flowers such as daisies, marigolds, zinnia and others for the children to pick. I'm sure your wife would love cut flowers each week on the kitchen or dining room table. The children could pick them and its just as good as dead heading.

pebble, if you have seeds for spreading rosemary, I would love to trade you something for them. I was telling Cala that's what I want to fall over my rock wall. LMK
