Somebody stop me!!!!

Just came back from a local greenhouse...was like seeing King Tut's tomb for the first time.....I had to have everything!!!IT'S A SICKNESS!!!!!I'm a plant-A-holic!! I got several new Hibiscus,a new variegated Ti plant and some sun loving bromeliads...

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

You are right, it is a sickness. My order from Logee's will keep me busy for half a day potting all that stuff up. There used to be a nursery on the west side of Army Post Road and the new by-pass had to buy them out. Soward's was the name, I think. Do you know where they are now or if they are anymore? Used to love to go there. High prices, but such a choice I could hardly stand it.

i was just saying that I wish there was a place around here that had special plants, you can find something new and different sometimes ,but even at the House & Garden show, nothing that would knock your socks off...And Kyle,Pictures ,we need pictures of your new babies!!!

Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

i went crazy at the antique rose imporium a few weeks back. that place is amazing. great landscaping ideas everywhere you turn. and my mrs. b. cant is budding afer being mauled and tossed around the yard before being planted by my giant dog.

you mean it was not all that :-)
I have been to king tuts tomb was VERY disapointed they made a big deal about not taking camers in and once inside i understood it was like walking into an over sized shoe box.
but understand what you mean am not about to tell BF what my banana tree seed order is

I'm convinced it's a sickness too. Plant addiction is not such a bad thing..... I keep telling DH it could be worse!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

It could be gambling, or drinking, or drugs...better to be addicted to plants..! :-)

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

well,it probably depends on what kind of plant........

I want to become a regular here! I am finally making/taking time to get back into gardening. I used to have quite a fern collection and have had a field day ordering from Plant Delights. I am also trying my hand at seeds...something I haven't done since I was a child. It will be too hot here in Florida soon for much of anything, but I've got a nice big shady oak and will continue with ferns. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis a few years ago and this year decided to limit my area...so I have made my courtyard area as pretty as a picture...several cedar plant stands and lots growing in the oak tree...really fun things on a fence...everything but hubcaps! I draw the line there. Mostly container gardening. Soon the impatiens will give in to the heat and I am trying to think what I can replace them with. Any suggestions? This area is semi shade...gets plenty of light and bits of direct sun. The oak is huge and I keep the canopy well trimmed. I think I'll try to post some photos...I've never participated in a forum like this and it seems like fun...that is if you will accept an outsider! Hope so!

How very kind of you all! I am really looking forward to this! Do you all skip around or stick to one area? I'm still trying to figure this all out!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Dale, I started with my preferences set to read every forum. Then I found there were a couple that really don't 'fit' me. I read or try to read every post, and I post wherever my big mouth feels the need :) If you don't jump around, you will miss sooooooooo much!!!!!!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

no i don't Dale, i move around a lot. try to always give a helping hand to all those who needs help on subject/s i am familiar with. if not, i try to recommend a link to alleviate the problem they do encounter. go to the main forum and see which thread appeals to u or subject close to to suit ur need.

Hi Dale and welcome. It is always good to have some new life around any of the forums. I don't watch all of them unless it is a rainy day and then I might get caught up. I think right now I'm only watching about a dozen forums. Hope someone can be of help to you with your shady, but hot, court yard. Would love to see pictures.
