Hello folks,
Well, so far so good. No crisis today, but it's still only 2:30!! LOL
Jewel, I hope you get that job. You would be good at it, with all your knowledge and other farming activities.
KJo, I have had chicks since the end of February!! It was so nice the whole month that I ordered chicks, and then WHAM! it gets to 0 degrees every night for a week. At least they are feathered out a little bit and I don't have to use the heater any more.
We are in a winter storm warning starting this evening and tomorrow. Some places are supposed to get 6 - 12 inches of snow, plus thunder!! I hope we don't get that much. My yard is such a sloppy mess right now, I wish it would just get dry. A nice warm rain would be good too. I put my order in, but Mother Nature must have screwed it up!!
DH finally got that cow out of the barn, but not before he had to tap her on the nose with a pipe so she would quit charging at him. I could hear her bellering all the way in the house. Hope we don't have any calves the next couple of days, but when that low front hits, anything can happen.
I am going to plant some lettuce (how is yours doing KJo?) in a pan or two because I hear head lettuce is supposed to get to $3.00 a head because of the frosts down south. They were already $1.99 at the local Hy-Vee store already. Don't know which window I will put it in, there is so little window space, plus the radiators are right underneath them. Such dillemas!!
Kathleen, hope you are feeling better.
Mary, are you getting any of this weather? By the radar, it looks like you are getting some too.
leaflady, your cookies sound yummy. Think I will bake something tonight. If we don't have school because of weather, that's always a good baking day. Maybe I can even get DH to help with the dishes since my hand is still bandaged. (I'm gonna milk this for all it's worth!! *wink*)
Well, gotta go get something done!
Keep warm everybody!
Ruth
