I have tried several time to grow this herb from seed but the plants always dies or they never sprout at all. Can anyone help here with some instructions. Thanks so much!
growing chamomile
When planting chamomile from seed I till
the soil well, plant the seed aprox. 1/16th
to 1/4th of an inch beneath the soil. I
press gently but a little firm on the soil
covering the seed and keep it (moderately)
moist. Too much water will rot the seed,
too little will dry it out. I cover the
box or bed with clear plastic keeping it
aprox. 2 inches steaked to hover above
the soil. When the sprouts have NO LESS
than 5 leaves, I uncover and let grow,or
transplant to bed. (ALL seeds except for
peppers need top heat-BRIGHT LIGHT. Peppers
however grow by bottom heat, like a heat-
ing element for green house growing or
a heating pad, setting them on top of
a warm fridge will also give them bottom
heat.

Jewel, thanks so much. I don't know why I didn't think of covering them with plastic like I do carrots. Sometimes we all need a friend to help remind us of things. I'll let you know if I succeed this time.
I planted chamomile last year and this spring I have thousands of little chamomile coming up in the garden. Once you get it going it will come back yearly from self-seeding.
It is one of the first plants to come up in the spring.
