Barbara - do you still have a Rothkirch?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

if you do put me in line behind Ms Fast on the Draw!! LOL!!

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Sorry, the Rothkirch went to the great brug garden in the sky. Unfortunately, Rothkirch seems to be a difficult plant to grow and root.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Hmmmm, seems like a job for the mad scientist!! Guess what??? I got some HG to root from the little buds that form above a leaf, I think they are called axillary buds?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Maybe someone should ask Monika for some pollen. That would be the next best thing right now. Cala, you amaze me. What a treat it is to have a "mad scientist" among us.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

If anybody should have a Rothkirch, I think Susie is IT!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Calalily. . . you never cease to amaze me! What matter did you place that tiny cutting in to root?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I tried them in agar, sand, vermiculite and also used vermiculite/sand mixed. They rooted best in the sterilized sand, second best was the vermiculite/sand mix. I must have contaminated the agar mix, it grew fuzzy stuff. I think I did it when I opened the top, let in mold spores or something. I'll learn to leave them alone till they start growing, lol. I had best results using a rooting hormone/fungicide combo.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I wasn't asking for the Rothkirch for me - just seemed like a bunch of people down there need it asap. Things to do - brugs to pollinate.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I'd love to see Eric with one, that's for sure:) hope you know I was joshing ya Liz!!

Not to worry, I'll make sure Brugman gets an aurea x Rothkirch somehow.

FSH, TX

I just want it to hybridize with. Rothkirch pollen is just as good as the plant itself. Unfortunately I want a gallon of pollen. Lol, am I unreasonable? For every oz of pollen you get an oz of seed produced from that same pollen...would that be a deal? Lol, probably not, but I can try. Thanks you guys.

Hamilton, Canada

Welcome back Barb. Good to see you again.

Cala work on some cuttings. If anyone can do it you can.

Brugman, do you still want the doubles or should i send to CC, trying to wrap up around here.....

FSH, TX

Arlene,
I was going to grow those up for CC and send seeds to the both of you if I got any to set seed. Trying for that elusive double pink. I still think those are good hybrids to use for that and if you still want me to do this for you and her I will. If you have decided to make your own crosses though I certainly would prefer you to send them to CC as I am sure she is eager to hybridize with these as well. In short, I will have tons of seed to give away this year, but those seeds were to be for you and CC only and were to be dispersed with whoever you two wanted to share them with. Trust me, I have a few doubles in bloom right this moment with pollen already applied and a few seedpods clearly forming. These are for the Double pink group and I would like everyone to grow them as they are from my trees. If someone donates a tree for me to hybridize with for them though I can't donate those seeds to others and feel good about it though as those were not given to me to give out seed to others, but specifically to you two....Ah, life is fun when your having fun raising your own seedlings. Lets get back to the fun of hybridizing and not worry so much about other matters.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Arlene, send it to Eric,he will get them blooming MUCH faster than I will and everyone will benifit!I have so many I'm trying to get to bloom and still NOTHING.So Eric ,get them blooming and start Hybridizing. We all want that American Double Pink!!!
