Please answer a seed question for me

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I was sent some datura seeds and I opened them finally to plant a few and they are small black little beads. My other datura look a lot like brug seeds ?? Have I got something else or are they datura?

HoniBee, Brug and Datura seeds look very different. Brug seeds have a corky outer layer. If you look back in the posts I had posted a picture of both kinds of seeds. Sorry, don't know how to hyperlink.

if I am not mistaken even different daturas have different looking seeds

Honeybee didn't I send you some brug seeds? Those are true brugs with the corky covering on them.

Yes you did and I am in the process of planting some. Thank you Deanne.

Deanne,
Datura seeds can either be dark brown through to light brown depending on the type of datura. Are you looking for Datura seeds? If so email me and I can send you a few.

HoniBee,
The daturas that I have look like a bell pepper seed, size and shape. The brug seed are large and look like wood chips. Let me know if you want any double purple and double yellow daturas also bush moonflower, which has the same kind of seed.

Honeybee, I think joydie1 meant you, not me. She is right though, some datura are dark, some are light colored.

There are black datura seeds too....Datura discolor and datura stramonium have black seeds.Daturas have seeds that range from Dark brown to tan to black to almost a yellow tan. So what you have can be a datura form.
