Please don't eat the Dutch Iris

I just had to tell this. I came home from work yesterday to find DH in the kitchen cooking a roast. He had some "onions" from the garden on the counter getting ready to cut them up and put them in the roast. I had him take me to the garden and show me where he got them. It was my Dutch Iris!! I laughed so hard, I fell over. We have Lisbon onions and winter onions planted around the edge of one of my flower gardens, but the Dutch Iris are in clumps scattered all thru it. He saw how nice the tops were and decided those would be better to use!!
He definitely knows which are onions now.
