Got to thinking about the florida laws on interstate shipping (blah blah) and started looking for info.
i recalled something years ago about the agricultural inspection stations in florida. anyway, i found this link. will yall look at it and let me know if it looks to you like we cant bring anything into the state without proper documentation, etc..
probably worrying for nothing, but with my luck and the ways its been lately, i dont want to take anything for granted.

thanks jen
Is it legal to do this???
Remember I asked about this a month ago and someone said it was okay? I have an inspection certificate for my state.
MsJen and others. There is no inspection station on the side you will be intering. Most of the Fl inspection stations are east and south of us.They are mainly to protect the citrus and farming interest in mid and south Fl.Autos and small non-commercial trucks aren't checked anyway.
As for the legality....do you really care?I have lived here more than 35 years and have never known of anyone being hauled into court for bringing plants into the state.
There is absolutely no difference between mailing plants or bringing them in person.BTW the brug and ruella cuttings are doing fine :>)
How about California??? I have sent brugs etc. priority for last couple years and they have sent me plants in trade. Had no idea there was anything about not shipping to them, until I see all the nurseries say will not ship plants to California?
Gloria
I think we'll be fine.
g2s, of course i care or i wouldnt have asked.
im glad to know the brugs and ruella are doing fine, seeming as tho those will be the last ones i will send in to florida until i find out otherwise.
i was only aware that ca had shipping restrictions..had no idea florida did.
ignorance is bliss but is no excuse for breaking the law.
as always
jen
it says commercial shipments must stop at the inspection station.
we aren't commercial, we are an organization.
right, actually, we aren't even that! we're just plain friends meeting up:) no one is selling and we're leaving with the same amount!!
I believe gone2seed is right. No one is gonna hunt you down and check you. I've not seen any agricultural check stations except over near 75 way past Tallahassee.
No one has even questioned what was in the priority postal package when I sent them to Florida and California, did not have to list anything, course I took all the dirt off plant roots and wrapped in wet paper towels, so should have been pretty clean, no bugs etc.
i will contact every one that ive made tentative trades with and hopefuly we can complete them through the mail.

this is too much sarcasm for me. i hope yall have a great time
jen
MsJen,It wasn't meant to be sarcastic.Just my feeble attempt at humor.Sorry if I offended you.Sometimes it just doesn't come across the way we intend.
