Please tell me it's not true!!

I noticed today two very special Brugs are not looking very well. I hope I'm just being paranoid but I doubt it. It looks like a virus to me. Would one of you experts take a look and see what you think.I'll cry all the way to the trash can but I can't afford to infect my other Brugs. The only thing I have used on them is DE in the soil and I mist the leaves with Tree Tea Oil.These two I have kept in my bedroom in a window that gets the morning sun.I'm thankful they were in a different room from the other Brugs. I just noticed it when I went to put them in the GH today.

SH, it does not have to be a virus. Mottled leaves can have different reasons. It just could be a disturbance in growth, caused by lack of light, root problems, your Tea oil etc. Only a labratory examination will show, what it really is.

I have some that do this all the time in the spring and fall then all summer look fine. They still bloom good and grow well..so then what?? :-)

Snow, looks like you may have burned it. I did that to one with pyrethrum, and had the inspector take a leaf and send to a lab, no virus. It's not affecting the whole plant, keep it isolated, wash your hands after handling and see how it looks in a few weeks.

Monika, Kyle and Cala. Thanks so much. Guess they will live to see another day. I'll keep them in the sunny window and plant out this summer away from the other ones. Maybe they just need spring to get here. :)

i have seen this before
or close to it anyway
spray it for mites
i can't rememeber but it
could be one of the real
hard to kill ones
i mixed soap, neem oil and
malathion and sprayed once a
week. my plants were in full
sun and watered 3 times a day with
a small amt. of fert. each time
and recoverd

Snow, just isolate the ones your worried about.Hope its just from being sprayed or something....

Snow that's how some of mine looked. I moved them to another room and they seem to be growing out of it. The new leaves look healthy and dark green.

I'm still worried about one plant - where it had discolored spots it now has holes in the leaves. Not like chewed bug holes but like the leaf tissue has separated from the veins. I was going to trash it but now I have it in it's own window and I'll see what happens. I think they need some real sunshine and fresh air.

Larry, First thing I did was check for mites with a magnifying glass. Had them a while back but no signs of them now. Poppy and CC, I'll just keep them in the house away from all the rest and hopefully summer will straighten them out.

Aphids leave spots sometimes where they suck the juices out of the plant. Bacterias can make spots on the leaf. My foxgloves get something called anthracnose(NOT anthrax) that makes first spots and then holes in the leaves. It is caused by fungi.
