Friday March 8

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning farmers. It is a sunny morning here, 16* and about 10 mph wind. We had some snow overnight, just enough to sort of cover the bare ground. There were 2 new moms and their lambs to bring to the barn this morning in the wee hours. Two of the lambs needed a little warming up but I think they had nursed before I brought them inside so that helped a lot. The barn is pretty full so I had to shuffle one ewe and lamb to a smaller pen, add clean straw to her old pen and move one family in there. Also there was a granny that followed us in so I left her in the middle of the barn to have her lambs out of the weather. Today I am going to Boise again to pick up my hubby at the airport, on the way I will stop at Payette on the Oregon-Idaho border and visit Ponditis (Lani). So I had better get some breakfast, do my chores and be heading down the road. Have a great day, count your blessings.
