You people made me do it!!!!
Yeah!!! Glad we're such a bad influence on you Kyle! What's Rosalind Sarver like? and Mona Onstot? Haven't heard of them. Hope you get some awesome hybrids. Can't wait to see how they turn out.
Shoot, I haven't even heard of some of those brugs. Guess I better go on a hunt for pictures or are they out there?
I don't mind paying the water bill, just hate holding the hose for a couple hours each day. What size will these be potted into by summer? Guess your driveway will be full again. :-)
Way to go Kyle!!!!
Brugie, I'm with you. It's not the bill I mind so much, it's holding the water hose for hours every day. I did put in a few automatic waterers last year and have been thinking about one of the drip systems from the green house(it's not being used right now and Dh might not miss it if I take it home with me).
at least we know we'll all be doing the same thing all summer!!! LOL!
gee Kyle, you know I would have done all the dirty work if you'd just asked :)
Poppysue and Brugie..some of those are previous Hybrids I have done..we are talking F2 and maybe F3 hybrid seeds.Mona Onstot is named after an Aunt I once had..she loved flowers..its a deep pink versicolor.Rosalind Sarver I named after the Queen of the Cannas...in calif. She died at 98 and was still comming up with new cannas and out in the fields.I gave her a Dr Suess a few years ago and she loved that plant so much..so after she died I named this suav. Yellow/amber hybrid after her!She loved yellow flowers..truly a loss to the world..she was so kind and caring..a great conversationalist.I will remember her always..
Hey Kyle, my search on the net was not in vain. Found a site that has loads of information just from doing the search for Rosalind Sarver. Think I'll spend some time there just going from link to link. I remember, now, you mentioning these two brugs in another thread. Duh!!
Kyle, I can hardly wait to see the results - - I know it will be a while but I am patient. Are all these going to be singles? I am not familiar with a number of them that you mentioned. Just when I think I am catching up, you have gone off and left me again!!
BrugNanny ..they are all singles..........
I too haven't heard of a bunch - it's good to see that Butterscotch going to good use though.
Is Full Moon yours too?
Liz.."Full Moon" is a giant white suaveolens Hybrid I did a few years back too..giant flowers.sometimes nearly double the usual suaveolens sized flower.I'll try to find a good pic of it to post. :-)
Now that gets me excited. I love large blooms. They just seem to show up so well from a distance and out here, my brugs are mostly away from the house and deck.
Full Moon sounds sensational - - I will be waiting for the picture Kyle.
Way to go Kyle! Sounds like some interesting crosses. So glad you're back into the planting mode again. We should be seeing lots of great plants coming soon with all the hybridizing that's going on.
I've been hearing for ages about your dinner plate sized brugs - now I'll get to see one. YAY!
Kyle,
Quite an impressive list of crosses. I have a few Dr.Sues x Ecuador pinks from my own hybrids I liked, but as for the Ecuador pink x Dr.Sues...Daturapod aka Larry has a few of those already in bloom if memory serves me. I personally love the Dr.Sues x Ecuador pink cross, but I think it needs more aurea in it. What I can't wait to see are your Butterscotch crosses. What do you cull for first and foremost?

Kyle, it sounds like your're gonna have to get your camera ready - we are all going to want to see these new babies; I have never heard of most of these, and I'll bet you'll have some nice plants.
If this is the only bad influence we have on you, lets have some more!!!! and you will do some more interesting crosses.
Monika...see what they did to me???Now I'm gonna start crossing brugs again.Thought those days were over!! LOL LOL yeah right.....:-)
I think that is great. We got you back and I hope for myself to keep you going in breeding brugs.
