Picture of Charleston

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

This beautiful hybrid was created by Mme. Blin in 1991. I have a Tree of Charleston in my alley. For me, its the best double candida.

You're right - it's beautiful. This one must be a perfect breeding plant for doubles? I have a question but I'll go back to the other thread.

Look at the length of those tendrils. WOW.

Is it scented?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It has a strong fragrance.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Brugcrazy, thats exactly what I said out loud when I saw it.Its gorgeous....Monika,are they peaks or tendrils?....or hangie thingies

Monika,
Is there a big difference between the Charleston and Candida Species?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Monika - who takes these pictures? They are so clear and the color is perfect. I was just looking at one you posted a while back - Rosalie - another beauty - everytime I look at your pictures I want them.

Liz, I'm pretty sure Monika takes these pictures. Besides being brugmansia gardener extraordinaire, she is an excellent photographer too.

Well I'm sure impressed. And Knightii - it's starting to look the same to me, scared to take a look at Enchanted Double White.

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I was wondering like Glory. I have a white Candida double and was wondering what the difference mine seem like this one but I am not sure the wiskers on the end of the flower are as long>??

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

okay, Monika is a great hybridizer and photographer, Kyle is a great hybridizer and photographer. hmmm....I'm starting to see a pattern here. I'll be back after I go practice with my camera ;)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

If practicing with my camera will make for some great hybrids, I'm heading out too. :-)

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh yes, and they're both great landscapers!!! I just don't know if I can do all that!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Monika, Another beautiful flower. I was also wondering what the diffeence is between the candida double, species and Charleston. For those of us that are not expert hybridizers, it is difficult to tell.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

what a beauty!

Stop it!! I can't take it anymore!!!
Everyone here has amazing brug pictures!!

Jealous you ask-----YES!!!!!

Very nice Monika

Crystal

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

It's certainly a beautiful flower.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I made the pictures, using two cameras. One for color slides, the other for color pictures.

Everyone of you will see the difference between candida species and Charleston when seeing them in nature. Charleston has in Summer many triple flowers.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Well - I guess there is the problem - Charleston is very uncommon over here. Sigh~
