Hello folks,
BRRR, such a change from the weekend weather. Snow and wind chills this morning. Got my baby chicks delivered this morning. I was out running around trying to find more extension cords for the ceramic heater that I wanted to put in with them. The three-bulb heat lamp just didn't warm up the coop very much with the -3 wind chill that we had this morning. I had to grab a metal rod and beat on a cement block to get it pried off the frozen ground to put the heater on it so the straw wouldn't catch fire. All this in my good work clothes. By the time I got to work, my hair was all messed up from me cracking my head on a beam, I had straw hanging from my shoes, my pants had dust on them. What a sight.!! I wanted to just stay in the coop with the chicks.
Leaflady, glad you are feeling a little better. I know about overdosing! My uncle was transfered to a different hospital when he broke his hip and when the doctor found out he was taking up to 20 pills daily, he threw them all out and gave him just 2. His doctor that prescribed all those pills never considered that the meds were fighting each other and just prescribed more. My uncle did so much better with just the 2 pills.
By the way, thanks for the idea about the kitty litter. I will have to try that on the mole in my yard.
Found a couple of duck eggs in the hay on Saturday. It was 65 degrees that day, and I think the ducks will be wondering what is going on when they go to dive into the pond and the water is frozen again. They were really having fun swimming yesterday. I will have to get them penned up so I don't find duck eggs all over the yard. The dog also likes duck eggs, so I would have to find them before he does. Darn egg sucking dog, anyway!! LOL
Shoe, I will try to get that deer bologna recipe for you, but this guy that makes it just adds spices here and there and usually doesn't keep track of how much he puts in. But I'll try.!!
Keep warm everybody.
