Pods for Poppysue

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I should have mailed them when I cut them last week, but didn't make it to the Post Office. I've got them in water and they are making little nubs for roots. Now the question is: When will it be warm enough to send these?" I intended to mail today, but saw on the weather channel that a cold front is coming in tonight and tomorrow. Let me know when you think it's safe to ship. I will box them up really good and maybe they will survive. These are the branches with the seed pods I'm talking about.

Does Poppysue get her mail at home when she is home or at the PO? that's the question, they should be safe on the trucks and planes. it's supposed to be 27-31 here thursday night, sure hoping that changes!

Arlene, that's what I was wondering about. It's when they sit in the mailbox when they would freeze, but if she has a PO box, that would work.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Cala, I don't have a PO box - but I'm usually home when the mail comes. Our forecast doesn't look too bad - Tomorrow's gonna be almost 50 (YEAH!! :) This is our 10-day forecast http://www.weather.com/weather/local/04102?y=14&x=8 Let me know when you do mail & I'll watch for them. Packages are usually quick on the east coast... it should only take 3 days.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I ship all year round thru the priority postal system and never lost a plant..I just sent out three different boxes of alocasias during the last two weeks and all got there without freezing...the post office never leaves things outside at airports or stations like UPS does.

Poppysue, I'll take Eclipse's word for it and mail them tomorrow. I always send plants Priority, except for huge commercial boxes, then I use UPS. I hope you will be tickled with these!! I can't wait for you to have your very own pods!!

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

OH BOY!! PODS!! I'm excited too. I'll let ya know when they get here and reimburse your postage for mailing. Should I try to root with the pods on? You're putting me under a lot of pressure Cala ~;-)

Poppysue, i've rooted the stems with the pods on and quite a few of them went ahead and ripened. These have been in water long enough to start the little white nubs.
