I didn't keep records, sent VPX seeds...these are not versicolor peach, the flowers are versicolor type and the color was peachy but not the same as versicolor peach. they are Dr Seuss X Ecuador Pink, a brugman hybrid. Also, seeds marked Brugman/Eric hybrid white, same cross.
i don't think there will be a higher incidence of whites as parents weren't white. am very interested in knowing how these do. the first batch i started only 1 has come up. started a few more last week. please let me know, thanks.
VPX seeds
Arlene, Some time ago you sent me Eric's white hybrid seeds. I have five plants from the seeds. Are they white or DS x EP. Now you have me curious.
they are from a white fragrant hybrid, parents DrS and EP. unknown dad.
Arlene, please forgive me. I haven't gotten these planted yet, I've had daughter and baby here every day for over 2 weeks! oops, one day off, that's when I kept the other grandbaby:) I'm exhausted, sorry!! Anyway.....I am soaking these this morning, along with the sanguinea seeds I promised out, and Glorias. Good to have my hands in dirt again, and I'll keep you up to date!
tig, no apology necessary!!! glad you had company. these are just 2 of mine i would like to track, can't remember who has them. i didn't keep any jean pasco either.
Looks like it will be a surprise what come out of the one you sent me. Have to put them in bigger pots today.
starting JP today too Arlene, want some back?
Arlene, I have some JP X Isabella pods, when they are ripe, I can send you some. I've been good with these, haven't even squeezed on them and they don't have New Skin on them either!! BTW, New Skin works on boo-boos but it sure does sting. I must learn to be careful when taking cuttings and be sure my finger is out of the way!!
Tig and Cala, thanks, think i have enough. just think about me when they bloom, let me know what they are. tig, you are gonna outplant brugman, i can see it already.
I have some seeds from those two. I just planted so will let you know too.
Arlene - I have some of your seeds going too. I have some of the versi-hybrids and a few of the white xs. I also have the Isabella x butterfly. I've tried to keep a name of who the seeds came from with all my seed labels. I'll definitely let you know when they bloom. I can't wait!
Arlene, I have the Xwhite hybrid and they are doing great.
Arlene,
Not sure if this is what your looking for:
1 package marked x white x?
1 package didn't mark?
1 package Eric's hybrids x hybrids v x v
Not real sure what you mean by a couple.
these are marked VPX
i guess i should have given vpx some kind of name, at least a different one since it seems kinda like versicolor peach which is isn't. i also have vpx1 and vpx2. these didn't bloom til much later, are versi type and went from white to....one kinda peachy/yellowy, the other i don't even remember. one of its sis's lives at robin's house, she described it as my vpx only apparently it had more yellow stay in it, didn't get to see it, will take pics this year. i have 4 more Brugman hybrids that did not bloom this year (mybad! left in pots). if you want them to bloom quickly, plant in the ground or a pot that's too heavy to move...i cannot believe we'll have a hard freeze, especially since i declared spring in january!!! they must be wrong.
Arlene, your spring is just having a little setback, where our spring is a ways away, way FAR away.....
poppysue, the versi X are probably the seeds of spring peach (since been named). did any of those make it?
Yes - I did have a couple of versi-X plants. I'm not sure if I kept one or not for myself ... BUT I know I just sent off a cutting in Frannie's box - maybe two. I'll have to let her know it's the Spring Peach.
thanks poppysue!
Arlene, I just checked, I still have a couple of those VPX seeds you sent me. I tried to grow some of them earlier this year and I wasn't having any success remember? Anyway I have a bad habit of not using all the seeds when I plant things, I like to have something to fall back on to have another try. Go think huh?? Do you want them...Let me know
VPX has become what???
I think VPX is now Spring Peach. Arlene??
right dee, vpx was named spring peach by brugman. the seeds don't really matter, just curious as to what they will look like when they bloom, if anyone gets them to bloom, would like to know how they turned out.
my one spring peach X unknown has a calyx 9 3/4 inches long not counting the peduncle. i split it and peaked, tendrils are maybe a little over an inch long and straight. should bloom someday!
Arlene. . Poppysue sent me Veris X (SP1 and SP 2). Which one is now called Spring Peach?
Frannie, i think they are both seedlings of Spring Peach, different seeds.
arlene, I measured one really long calyx that was near the front door the other night. It was only 7-8". I didn't measure any more!!! lol
and VLP?? what did that become?? I got this as a cutting last summer from Irish.
Liz.... i don't know, you might need to ask irish. if it came from me it could be spring peach or her sister that i am wondering if i will keep, very similar but much lighter peach.
Thanks Arlene - I was getting very confused with all th V~~ series.
