Joh Thaw is dead.

Well dear John Thaw has died today, aged 60. I love him in Morse and have been watching the repeats of Morse on friday evenings. Never watched in the Sweeney because the children were small and it seemed very violent to me so would not allow them to watch it, we only had 1 TV then in the 70s.He was born near me in Manchester, and off course were very poor just like 99 per cent of the population here, his mother left them when he was very young.My condolences to his family and i feel sorrow that i never felt over Margaret.

I sorry to hear about John Thaw, such a wonderful actor.

The Sweeney was a fantastic programme as was most of his work. It's been shown in over 51 countries and is still shown today. Morse and Kavenagh (sp?) QC were also great telly. We've certainly lost one of our gems today.

I have only watched him in Morse, not any other programmes.I pick the programmes i want to watch, love Clocking off which was on tonight and this is the only programme that interested me, i dont have sky i dont want sky either.

That's a shame. He was a fine actor.
