crinum lilly....how, what , where?

i just received some of these bulbs in a trade today...i see that they like the sun....i have a nice place on the east side of my house with morning sun...do they need to have some shade or full sun?... also....what is the best depth to plant them....oh one more....are they a perennial for zone 5...mid missouri?...thanks in advance

Their hardiness much depends on their species, C. powellii is hardy down to 5F but many are hardy down to 50F only so I guess you may need some winter shelter.

I have C powellii which is currently in the greenhouse although it rarely gets so cold here. Plant the bulb so that the top end of the neck is showing above ground level, in very well drained soil and are in a position where it gets full sun everyday.

but dont forget they need to be planted facing south so they get the maximum light.
