Sang Project

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

This is one of my strange little sanguineas from Rich's project. Believe it or not... it's the best looking one of 4 that germinated. The big plant behind it is a sanguinea from ValleyGro seeds & both were started the same time.

What do you suppose the problem is? The plant is only 2 inches tall but I can see it's putting out teeny-weenie branches anlong its stem. Who else has sangs from the yahoo group? How are yours doing?

It's kinda cute in its own deformed way.

I have some - Sanders from Horticult. They're a bit bigger than this but I only started mine in January.

I like it in a weird sort of way.

Almost looks like a little brug bonsai. It actually has a lot of tiny leaves on it. I wish I could get a better close up but I can't get the camera to focus that close. Maybe it will grow up to be a micro-sang ;o)

I have quite a few from Hortcult. Some are growing very big and a few are tiny, almost deformed. Weird eh?

Just let me know if you guys create some sort of bonsai/miniature Brugmansia hybrids...you could start your own line...tea pot sanguinea's...flowers as big as the actual hybrid itself.

That little one is strange. Your big one looks great poppysue. Maybe that little guy will turn out to be one of a kind with a strange beautiful flower.

Was that from the brown pod or the green pod? Could that have anything to do with it? Was Toby's from the same pod?

I have a couple from each pod - all stunted like this. I noticed Toby's were from both pods too.
