Cristina... forgive me, this is off topic of ur thread. i have been curious, do u know what's the latin name for the Caribbean Thyme? it is so much different from the regular ground growing thyme found here in the US. Caribbean thyme if not mistaken grows like a bush and is much better than the ones i see here. i'd like to be able to grow them, but do not know what to look for? TIA... ma vie

Thyme is(Thymus vulgaris L.); wild thyme (Thymus serpyllum) and Thyme drucei (common wild thyme).
Ther are many other species of the genus Thymus, only Th. zygis (Spanish Thyme) is an accepted substitute.
Other species are considered inferior, the content of thymol is low and contain other aromatic components.

Thanks Cristina. i have only the common variety of thyme... English thyme and lemon thyme. gee i wish i could find that Caribbean variety. i've search & search to no avail can i find one online :(.
