The robins in my garden are building in what was designed as a wren box on the garage wall. But there's a third one too!!! Battle royal going on!! No wonder there's been so much singing.
The blue and great tits are checking out boxes too. Fingers crossed they choose MY garden. Had a pair of each last year. But there seemed to be a lot of unsuccessful nest attempts last year, here at any rate. Particularly the song thrushes and robins.
Would love to hear what's happening on the nesting front in everyone else's gardens. We could keep this thread going throughout the season if you're interested. Just update as things happen??

No action in my garden as yet. Last year I had blackbirds nesting in my Viburnum, haven't seen them around yet.
My next-door neighbour has several blue tit nests generally. They've been flying around during the last few days, zooming into my garden too, perching on little bracnches and looking in at me as I work on the puter. I'd luv them to nest with me but they'll probably stay right where they are as my neighbour has more shelter from her shrubs and small trees.
I lkie robins. Never had one nest in my garden though. I'm unlikely to get more than my blackbirds back again, not enough shelter.
Yes, i've worked at getting shrubs and climbers in place for the birds (i'm lucky to have room), but some of them will have to come out this year as i'm planning some changes. One year i got a book out of the library and made loads of boxes, all different shapes and sizes. Now I,ve seen how the birds use them i'd like to design some more - with easier access (for me!!). etc. Bought myself a jig saw (not a puzzle you understand,lol) for other things, but will come in very handy for that i've just realised. How you doin' anyway Northerner?? Did you get my email?
Hi Philomel! Yeah, got your email thanks! Sent you one back - it must have been Friday morning I think. Unless my email stuff is doing silly buggers. The internal email at uni is pretty grotty at the moment - I had to redo several emails cos the darned thing wasn't working right. You should have got your email cos I used my home puter for it.
Working my way thru a load of washing. My machine's broken down so I'm hand-washing, got stuff draped over radiators. Just about half-way thru. Pretty sure my machine is covered by a policy - just gotta find where that stupid bit of paper is...
No, no email from you....But as long as you're OK. These 'puters can be very tricky beasts!!
No washing machine's a pain. I'm always doing that with my bits of paper too - have to make a proper file - and then i forget to put them in!! The shop, and/or bank should have a record of the transaction, don't give up......

Tell you what i have never seen so many crows could be ravens in the fields thousands upon thousands off them hope they dont come into my garden but do have quite a few magpies but not seen any birds building any nests, well if the poor things have they will be blown out in this weather.

Not seen too much nest building activity here either, the Song Thrush have started to come into the garden regularly which is something new here.
Our ducks have layed 3 green eggs so far, just waiting for them to think about sitting and we might have ducklings again! (Said Baa hopefully)
