Roger,

although i live in the U.S., i am originally from the Philippines. i've lived here for more than a quarter of a century. i live in the upper desert of So. California, where ths soil is harsh sand, and strong winds constantly blowing, if not sand storms. living in the desert is nice, there is no smog. we have beautiful sunrise and colorful sunset, most of the time. sunny most of the time, almost like a painted skylines most of the time. we hardly have any rain here. totally different from the tropical hot/humid climate of the Phil., it is nice dry weather here. during the summer time temp. soar up to 110 degs., but due to the strong wind, we hardly feel the heat. winter time is the opposite, last year our winter temp dip down to 10 deg.F. there were times we do have light sprinkling of snow that stays only for a day. the harsh sand is truly a challenged in gardening, but i do manage to meet the basic requirements of plants, as i do a lot of research on plants i grow. i was once told nothing will grow, but i did managed to prove everyone wrong. i do mix my own soil to meet basic requirements of each plant i grow. btw... nice meeting u Roger!! ma vie

here we have the quite opposite cold and rainy even so its much warmer then it should be during the winter we hardly have no sun at all the sun is so low so it nearly not coming up and in places north of us it doesnt come up at all but during the summer it stays up 24 hours a day but now we can feel the spring I can smell it and some birds singing spring hymns asking for a partner and our sunrices are looking good also the snow is melting.

Hello Roger, nice to meet you. Although I live in the US like MaVieRose, I am originally from Germany and have lived in the states now since '91. I live in Ohio and I wish it was starting to become spring here but the the ground is still frozen solid and I can't dig it up enough to even stick all the bulbs in that I have received from Brad_cj :(
