Have any of you hybridizers noticed any differences in vigor or growth rate of first seed to germinate vs. later germinating seeds from the same seedpod; when planted at same time under same conditions, of course.
Differences
All of mine seem to grow at the same rate..except for certain unusual forms..mutations etc.
It seems like the ones that are a little slower to germinate soon catch up with the others.
I have a few stragglers and a few that just seem to shoot up several feet above the rest in the first year. Generally the distorted ones are slowest of all and branches droop...ie growth is not as strong. This does not seem to be related to when they germinate though. Seedling leaves, now those do seem to very a lot. Some are rolling, wrinkled, velvety, serrated, wavy, or any combination of the above. Narrow, wide, etc....

OK. Then let me ask this......
Are there any differences in appearance, frequency of blooming, or FRAGRANCE among Dr. Seuss, Jutner Orange, and Charles Grimaldi?? I have all three, and am going to pare it down to just one of them if there are no differences. I only have space for a limited number of brugs, so I want to have all of them significantly different:)
Also, what are the best companion flowers (vines) to plant in the pot with brugs? I am sure I will have some that will not bloom this summer, and it would be nice to have some color on them from a companion flower:)
