LeBon Jardinier new listing of unavailable brugs

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Brug lovers might want to take notice of the changes made at Hardings site http://www.lebonjardinier.com/brugmansialist.htm. There are many varieties that are no longer available.

Bward I will check with Vicki and see what the story is on why they removed so many hybrids from the list..:-)

Kyle,
She lists the reasons for each removal on her site.

Bward, Barb, all brugmansias are Virus prone..some more than others..so that shouldn't be the main reason they were removed. We will see if theres another underlying reason soon.

I agree Kyle.

I hope, that it will not be common among Brugmansia collectors to exterminate Brugmansia hybrids, because of proneness to virus, because then it will be Goodbye Brugs!

I see a point in moving onwards to better hybrids, than the old ones. However, if this also become the common order of things to exterminate them, just because they are old, I think, that the next thing we need is a "Brug-Museum", before the only thing we got left of the old ones are a few yelloing pictures and memories from our gardens :)

I can not get LeBonJardinier.com, nor Barbara's hyperlink to bring it up.

Is something wrong with my computer?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It won't come up for me now either. I used the address in my Favorites and it won't come up so they must be having some problems right now.

Maybe she didn't pay her bill??

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I can`t get into the LBJ site either. Most times I can, but it can also be due to too many requests from computers trying to open the site at the same time. Most internet servers can manage up to 60 requests in each second and the rest will be lined up, until their turn. When this line gets too long, the page would not open. Here in Denmark we have a remark, when this happen (it is like our computers is working by 1/10 of its optimal speed): "Darn, USA is awakening" *lol*

They must be doing some kind of overhaul over there. Maybe tomorrow all those brugs will again be for sale!!

The site itself is ok, the brugmansialist.html probably no longer available, everyone is trying to access it when it does not exist.

I just looked at this for the first time. What an unusual batch of eliminations. Some you'd never think were a problem seem to be and some that you'd think that would be on the list aren't. Like Sangre for example. It's very susceptible to virus and is still there. Strange.

Liz, it's real strange that she added ones to her list that hadn't been there for over a year and then marked them eliminated.
